Five generations in the steel industry
Based in Sheffield, the home of stainless steel. We specialise in supplying end-user manufacturers — with the warmth of a family business and the discipline of ISO 9001 quality.
Simon Bluff has worked in steel for over 35 years, but the family connection runs deeper. His great-great-grandfather, Joseph Bluff, was a crucible maker. Sons and grandsons followed him into the industry — including Simon’s father, Arnold Bluff, who founded Taylor Forgings in 1971.
Today the company is owned by Simon and Jill Bluff. Their belief in continuous development shows in three places: people, equipment, and bringing operations in-house — including Taylor NDT and ongoing CNC investment.

Six CNCs including 5m SFM lathes, a 2023 Dah Lih VMC and a 2025 Doosan Puma 2600 SYII with live tooling.

In-house NDT since 2019, ISO 9001 quality management, and JOSCAR registration for supply-chain confidence.
Family-run in Sheffield since 1971. Already investing in the next fifty years.
